Your Patient Journey
Adding years to your life & life to your years
Every patient's path is a little different. This page walks you through each step, from your first conversation to ongoing care, so you always know what comes next and how to book it.
Two ways to begin, one clear path
Start with a conversation or start with labs. Tap any step to jump to the details.
Choose your starting point
Begin with a consultation or begin with labs. If you'd like help deciding, start with a free discovery call. If you're unsure, the Initial Consultation is the best place to start.
Free 15-Minute Discovery Call
A short, no-cost call with our team to talk through your goals, explain how membership works, and point you to the right first step. Book it online: on our booking page, choose Free 15-Minute Discovery Call.
- You're interested in becoming a member
- You'd like help choosing between a consultation and labs first
- You have questions about how our practice works
Initial Consultation
Meet one-on-one with one of our clinicians to review your history, symptoms, and goals before deciding on labs, testing, or treatment.
- Review of your medical history and current concerns
- Discussion of diet, lifestyle, medications, and goals
- Recommendations for labs, testing, supplements, or treatment
- A written Personalized Plan after your visit, included with your consultation, with recommended lab work, initial supplements, and other next steps
Prefer to start with bloodwork?
Your first visit with our clinician can be a Lab Analysis & Review with your results already in hand. Choose how you'd like your blood drawn in Step 2. Either way, we build your personalized lab order before your draw.
Get your labs drawn
You have two options. Whichever you choose, our clinician curates a personalized lab panel for you (your requisition). A $49 Order & Handling Fee per lab requisition (plus $49 for each add-on test order, such as a 4-point cortisol kit or Genova stool test) covers that work and is waived for members. We never charge lab processing fees or mark up your testing.
Concierge Phlebotomy
Our phlebotomist draws your labs at home, at work, or another approved location, then processes and ships your samples for you.
- Blood draw, specimen processing, and shipping to Quest or LabCorp
- Biometric Analysis included (body composition, visceral fat, metabolic rate, vascular age) so we can track your progress over time
- 6-Lead EKG with physician interpretation: included for Tier 4 (Full Concierge) members, and available as a $199 add-on for all other patients
Quest or LabCorp
Required if you're outside our concierge service area, including Texas and Florida, and always available if you prefer a lab center. Biometric Analysis is not included.
- 1Book your draw at Quest or LabCorp. A morning appointment is best.
- 2Tell us your draw date and time by text or email, so we can date your requisition correctly.
- 3Book your Lab Analysis & Review right away, about two weeks after your draw date (see below).
Book your Lab Analysis & Review as soon as you book your draw
Schedule it for about two weeks after your draw date. That gives our precise LC-MS/MS hormone testing time to result. Booking now also opens your required paperwork, such as consents, questionnaires and any intake forms, and lets us build your requisition and send it to Quest or LabCorp. It will appear in your patient portal too.
Plan for your lab costs
Lab prices are set by Quest, LabCorp, or the specialty lab, not by us. With insurance, the lab bills your insurer directly. If you pay out of pocket, we collect the lab's discounted price before your draw and pass it through at cost, with no markup. Your Personalized Plan typically notes which tests are usually covered by insurance and which are not, and you can check ahead of time with the guides below.
Using insurance
- Add your insurance before your requisition is prepared: enter it in your patient portal, or text or email us a photo of your card.
- Quest or LabCorp bills your insurer directly. Coverage varies by plan.
- Our Master Lab Testing Menu lists the CPT code and typical coverage for every lab we commonly order. Call your insurer with those codes before your draw.
- "Covered" doesn't always mean free. On a high-deductible plan you may owe the lab's full rate until your deductible is met.
Paying out of pocket
- No insurance, or prefer a set price? We've arranged discounted client pricing with our lab partners and pass it on to you at cost, with no markup.
- You'll receive an estimate for your exact requisition and pay us before your draw, so there's no surprise bill later.
- At Quest, tell staff your tests are billed to your doctor's office. Don't hand over your insurance card, or Quest's standard rates apply.
- If cost is a concern, let us know. Our clinicians can tailor your panel to the tests that matter most.
Specialty and at-home testing
We typically start with blood work through Quest or LabCorp. Your clinician may also recommend at-home kits: a 4-point salivary cortisol test (usually through Sanesco) or a comprehensive stool test (usually Genova GI Effects). Both may be covered by insurance, depending on your plan; the testing company bills your insurer directly. We sometimes use other saliva or stool tests, which may or may not be covered. DUTCH and some other specialty panels are typically self-pay. The Master Lab Testing Menu lists each one, and we always recommend calling your insurer to confirm.
Prepare for your blood draw
A few simple steps make your results accurate. Always follow any specific instructions that come with your lab order.
Fast 10 to 12 hours
Water is fine and makes the draw easier. Book a morning draw, ideally before 10 AM.
Stop biotin 72 hours before
Biotin is common in multivitamins and hair, skin, and nail supplements, and it can skew hormone and thyroid results. Also hold any other supplements we ask you to.
Still having periods?
Schedule your draw about one week before your next period is expected to start. If you're no longer having periods, any day works.
Using self-pay pricing?
Don't give Quest your insurance card. Tell staff your tests are billed to your doctor's office.
At-home test kits
Follow the collection instructions inside each kit. Some, like 4-point cortisol, are collected at set times across one day.
On hormones? Time your draw around your dose
Consistent timing makes your results comparable from one draw to the next. Follow these guidelines unless our clinicians give you different instructions.
Review your results with your clinician
Most results take at least a week. Our LC-MS/MS hormone testing is more precise and takes a little longer than standard labs, which is why we schedule your review about two weeks after your draw. We'll contact you once everything has been released, and confirm or adjust your review date if needed.
Lab Analysis & Review
- A detailed walkthrough of your biomarkers, trends, and areas of concern
- Recommendations for additional testing when appropriate
- Discussion of lifestyle, supplements, and treatment options, including hormone therapy when appropriate
- A detailed written Personalized Plan, included with your review
Is this your first visit with us?
That's common on the labs-first path. Please complete all required paperwork, such as consents, questionnaires and any intake forms, in the patient portal beforehand.
Prefer a written report instead?
If you'd rather not meet by televisit, you can request a written report of your results. The written report fee is $199; see the BLL Our Process Handout for all fees. Text or email us to arrange it.
Receive your Personalized Plan
After every Initial Consultation, Lab Analysis & Review, and Follow Up, your clinician writes your Personalized Plan and emails it to you. It's included with the visit, and it grows with you as your care evolves.

What your biomarkers mean, in plain language.
Recommended testing
Follow-up labs and advanced testing, such as sleep studies or imaging, when they add value.

Follow up and stay on track
Follow Up
After each visit, our team usually books a placeholder follow-up 3 to 6 months out (up to a year, depending on your plan). Each follow-up includes an updated Personalized Plan.
Prefer to choose your own time? Book a Follow Up on our booking page. All appointments require a deposit.
Between visits
- Quick logistics: text us to schedule a draw or visit, or for a one-off question.
- After your Initial Consultation, you'll also receive one complimentary 15-minute phone follow-up with our clinician.
- In-depth clinical questions deserve proper time with our clinician. Please book a Follow Up.
- Substantive clinical messages: your first one is complimentary. After that, a $50 correspondence fee per message applies for non-members. Included with every membership.

Membership turns these steps into an ongoing relationship. Every tier includes televisits with our clinicians and written Personalized Plans, concierge blood draws with Biometric Analysis, a Fullscript supplement plan, nursing messaging, member discounts, and waived administrative fees (the $99 Advanced Testing Fee is waived for Full Concierge).
